According to Luxury Travel magazine, the city of Paris can be done in two ways: you can travel there to shop, or to soak up the culture. Which one will you choose?
If you are visiting Paris in order to add some French chic styling to your wardrobe, there is no better place to stay then the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, a 188-room hotel opened in 2003.
Rooms are elegant and sophisticated, featuring wood, silk and bronze and better yet, it's just a croissant's throw from Avenue Montaigne and its flagship stores Prada, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. Just a short block away you will find Jimmy Choo and the ultimate French shopping experience, Chanel.
Champs-Élysées is also worth a visit and although it may be a bit more touristy compared with the luxurious Avenue Montaigne, its range of shops will keep you busy for hours.
To soak up the culture:
Even the biggest culture buff couldn't get bored in Paris, with upwards of 200 museums and galleries across the city. You'd be hard pushed to do them all, however, so a few musts include The Louvre, the Musee de l'Orangerie and the Musee d'Orsay.
As for where you stay, the Plaza Athénée is a Paris landmark and exudes culture in itself, with a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. Not only does it house an ice rink in its courtyard and a three Michelin-star restaurant, it's also where Carrie stayed when she moved to Paris for the final season of Sex in the City.
