  1. What is the meaning of a Dependant?

    For the purposes of our policies, means your children or grandchildren not in full time employment who are under the age of 21 and travelling together with you for 100% of the trip.

    Other children travelling (such as nieces, nephews or a friends children) with you who are not your own children or grandchildren need to have a separate policy.

  2. If i’m travelling with my sister and her child - can we purchase a family policy?

    No, family policies can only cover you, your spouse or partner, and dependant children travelling with you.

    Dependant children may be your children or your grandchildren under the age of 21 and not in full time employment.

    You will need to purchase your own separate travel insurance policy.

  3. Why is your company age limit for dependants 21 and not 25 like some other companies?

    The type and level of cover provided varies between different travel insurance companies, and this includes the age limit for policies.

    Please ensure that when considering a travel insurance policy, you read the company's Product Disclosure Statement to see if the policy is appropriate for the type of travel that you are doing.

  4. What is the meaning of 'Family' in the PDS?

    'Family' means you, your spouse (or someone legally recognised in Australia as your de facto partner) and your dependants.

  5. I have a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, but need to travel for more than the number of days specified on the policy for one of my trips. What do I do?

    You can either:

    1) Upgrade your Frequent Traveller Saver policy to increase the number of days permitted for each trip, or

    2) Purchase a Single policy for a specific trip for the number of days you'll be travelling over the duration specified on your policy. If you have added cover for your spouse on your Frequent Traveller Saver policy, you should purchase a DUO policy. If you have added cover for your spouse and dependants on your Frequent Traveller Saver policy, you should purchase a Family policy.

  6. Are kids covered for free?

    Yes, your own children or grandchildren are covered for free under a Family or Single policy provided they are under the age of 21 and not in full time employment.

    Other children travelling with you and without their parents or grandparents cannot be covered under your family policy, they will need to take out their own policy.

  7. Do children receive their own luggage benefits?

    No, children covered under a parent or grandparent Single or Family policy do not receive their own luggage benefits.

  8. Is my spouse covered in a Frequent Traveller Saver policy?

    For an additional fee, your spouse and dependants can be covered with your Frequent Traveller Saver policy as long as they are travelling with you 100% of the time.

  9. What is a Frequent Traveller Saver Policy?

    A Frequent Traveller Saver policy allows the traveller to travel as many times as they like within a 12 month period.

    Frequent Traveller Saver policies are available to travellers aged 64 years of age and under at time of policy purchase.

    For an additional fee, you can also cover your spouse and dependant children/grandchildren when they travel with you for 100% of the time.

  10. What policy type do I need to take out for my holiday?

    You can choose one of the following Policy types:

    Single

    Covers you and your dependants travelling with you.  Limits apply to the combined total of all claims made by the travellers (including dependants) listed on the Certificate of Insurance.  

    Duo

    Covers you and your nominated travelling companion listed in the Certificate of Insurance. You must be travelling on the same itinerary for 75% of your trip. Duo policies do not provide cover for dependants. We issue one Certificate of Insurance, however, you both have cover as if you are each insured under separate policies with Single benefit limits* per insured person.  

    * Except for Benefit 19 – Rental Vehicle Excess 

    Family

    Covers you, your spouse or partner, and dependant children travelling with you.  Dependant children may be your children or your grandchildren.

    The benefit limits for Family Policies is equal to double the Single policy benefit limit*, and apply to the combined total of all claims made by the travellers (including dependants) listed on the Certificate of Insurance. 

     

    * The benefit limit is not doubled for the following benefits and optional covers: 

    •       Benefit 13 – Theft of Cash

    •       Benefit 18 – Personal Liability

    •       Benefit 19 – Rental Vehicle Excess

    •       Benefit 23 – Snow Resort Closure

    •       Benefit 26 – Bicycle Pack

  11. Can you tell me more about the Frequent Traveller Saver policies?

    • 12 month policy
    • Unlimited number of trips
    • Maximum period for any one journey is shown on your Certificate of Insurance. You can choose from a maximum period of 15 days, 25 days, 40 days or 63 days
    • Benefit limits and sub-limits reinstated on the completion of each journey (except for Benefit 18 Personal Liability of the PDS) - the amount shown in the Benefit Summary of the PDS is the most we will pay for all claims combined under Benefit 18 for the 12 month policy period.
    • Automatic cover for cruising
    • Accompanying spouse/ partner and dependant children/grandchildren can be covered under the policy provided they are travelling with you for 100% of the journey. An additional premium will apply.
    • Extensions of cover are available for an additional premium.
    • Cover for snow sports is available for an additional premium.
    • Not available for travellers 65 years of age and over.

  12. What is the Frequent Traveller Saver policy and what does it cover?

    The Frequent Traveller Saver policy is our 12 month multi trip policy and is available to travellers aged 64 years of age and under.

    The Frequent Traveller Saver policy provides cover for unexpected: cancellation, overseas medical emergencies, lost/damaged/stolen luggage and personal effects, travel delays, missed connections, accidental death, permanent disability, loss of income, personal liability, loss of travel documents and credit cards and theft of cash.

    For an additional fee, your accompanying spouse/partner and dependant children/grandchildren can be covered if they travel with you 100% of the time.

    The Frequent Traveller Saver policy is available for all international and domestic trips and cruises and can be tailored to suit the trips you will be taking.

    Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the PDS.

  13. What are my choices regarding cover for my holiday?

    Under the policy, you choose the cover you require based on your travel arrangements and you cover type depends on the type of cover you want and are eligible to purchase.

    1) You can choose one of the following cover types:

    Single

    Covers you and your dependants travelling with you.  Limits apply to the combined total of all claims made by the travellers (including dependants) listed on the Certificate of Insurance.  

    Duo

    Domestic Plus

    Available to travellers of all ages.

    Snow Sports Plus 

    Available to travellers aged 69 years and under at time of purchase.

    Frequent Traveller Saver

    Available to travellers aged 64 years and under at time of purchase.

    Adventure Pack

    Available to travellers aged 74 years or under at time of purchase (Check PDS for eligible policy types).
