Am I covered for cancellation if I can't go on a hike due to severe weather?
You may submit a claim under the Trip Cancellation Expenses benefit for prepaid trip bookings that you’ve paid in advance and cannot recover in any other way if your hike is directly impacted by severe weather.
However, deciding not to go on a hike due to severe weather may not always be considered an insured event. You should carefully check the PDS to understand when cancellation cover applies and what is excluded.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
