Our multi-trip cover under the Frequent Traveller Saver policy helps safeguard your travel plans from many unexpected situations that may arise while travelling abroad and provides convenience for frequent travellers. Here are some reasons why our customers choose the Frequent Traveller Saver policy:

  • One policy, multiple trips: Enjoy continuous cover for all your travels within 12 months
  • Save time: Skip the hassle of buying a new policy before every trip
  • Consistent protection: Get the same trusted benefits every time you travel
  • 24/7 emergency assistance: Help is always just a call away, wherever you are
  • Great value for frequent travellers: One payment for a year of cover
  • Cover your loved ones: Include your spouse and dependent children under the same policy
  • Cruise-ready cover: Protection for cruising is automatically included with the Frequent Traveller Saver Policy

The Frequent Traveller Saver policy is available for Aussie travellers aged 75 and under at the date of policy issue. ^ Every traveller’s needs are different, so check the PDS to find the right policy for you. Any advice is general advice only and doesn't consider your personal and financial circumstances.

What Is Multi-Trip Travel Insurance and How Does It Work?

Multi-trip travel insurance policies such as Fast Cover’s Frequent Traveller Saver policy are designed for Aussies who take more than one trip a year. Instead of arranging a new policy each time you travel, a multi-trip policy covers you for multiple journeys over a 12-month period under a single policy, with cruise cover being automatically included without an additional cost.

Trip Duration and Flexibility

Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance provides cover for an unlimited number of trips within that 12-month period, as long as each journey begins and ends in Australia and does not exceed the maximum trip length set out in your policy. You can choose from 15, 25, 40, or 63 days. This means you can travel as often as you like during the year, for holidays, work trips, or visits to family overseas, without having to purchase a new travel insurance policy each time. ^

Automatic Cruise Cover

If part of your year includes time at sea, Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance includes automatic cruise cover at no extra cost. This means you don’t need to add a separate option to your policy, your medical, cancellation, and luggage cover can still apply while you’re on a domestic or international cruise, subject to policy conditions and limits. ^

Ongoing Access to Benefits

Your multi trip travel insurance automatically activates whenever you leave Australia during the policy period, giving your ongoing access to benefits such as Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses, Trip Cancellation Expenses, Luggage and Personal Effects, and Overseas 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance. Whether you’re travelling for a weekend getaway, an overseas conference, or a family visit, the same level of cover applies to every journey subject to the terms and conditions of your Frequent Traveller Saver policy. ^

If you’re travelling within Australia under your annual multi-trip policy, please note that some benefits such as benefits for overseas medical cover do not apply. This is because medical expenses in Australia are covered by Medicare or your private health insurance. Always review the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to understand which benefits are available for your domestic travel.

Adding Spouse and Dependants into Your Policy

You have the option of adding cover for your accompanying spouse or partner and dependant children or grandchildren under Fast Cover’s multi-trip policy provided they are travelling on the same itinerary as you for 100% of any of the trips within the 12-month policy period. ^

Any accompanying spouse, partner or dependant children or grandchildren covered under your policy will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance.

All travellers listed on your Certificate of Insurance will share the overall benefit limits of the policy, meaning that the combined total of all claims made by everyone on the policy cannot exceed the benefit amount shown in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

How a Multi-Trip Policy Differs from a Single Trip Policy

Compared to a single trip policy, which only applies to one continuous journey, a multi-trip policy provides continuous cover across all trips you take during the year. It can be a practical and cost-effective option for frequent flyers, business travellers, couples who travel regularly, or families who enjoy multiple holidays throughout the year.

Fast Cover’s Frequent Traveller Saver policy simplifies the travel insurance process with one purchase, one policy, and consistent cover every time you travel.

What Does Multi Trip Travel Insurance Cover

At Fast Cover, multi-trip insurance is available to provide cover under a range of benefits to help you deal with and take steps to be prepared for many unexpected and unforeseen circumstances that may arise before or during your trips.

This page provides only a summary of some of the benefits and options available for Frequent Traveller Saver policy at Fast Cover and does not replace the PDS which sets out the full terms and conditions of cover including benefit limits, sub-limits and exclusions that apply. Please note we can only provide cover for the circumstances and situations covered by your travel insurance policy and listed in your Certificate of Insurance so always review the PDS before deciding whether you need travel insurance and which policy is right for you.

Trip Cancellation Expenses

Unexpected natural disaster or unexpected illness can quickly derail travel plans, and your pre-paid bookings can add up. Fast Cover’s Trip Cancellation Expenses benefit may help reimburse the non-refundable portion of your prepaid travel costs, such as flights, accommodation, or tours, if you’re required to cancel due to a covered event. ^

You can select the date you want your annual multi-trip travel insurance to start. Your cancellation benefit will begin from the start date you select, not the date you purchase the policy. This allows you to set your cover to begin when you need it most for your upcoming trips. ^

Travel Delay Expenses

Flight delays can happen especially when you travel often. If your pre-booked transport is cancelled and rescheduled or delayed due to a covered event, Fast Cover’s Travel Delay Expenses benefit may reimburse the reasonable cost of additional meals and accommodation. ^

Our Travel Delay Expenses benefit may be able to provide cover for the reimbursement of reasonable additional meals and accommodation expenses up to $200 for each traveller (excluding dependants) for each 24-hour period if your scheduled transport is delayed for at least 6 hours from the time your transport was scheduled to depart. ^

Trip Disruptions Expenses

Frequent travellers know that severe weather events, natural disasters, or airline strikes can unexpectedly disrupt travel plans. If your scheduled or connecting transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted due to a covered event that occurs after your Certificate of Insurance is issued, our Trip Disruption Expenses benefit may help cover the reasonable cost of additional accommodation and travel arrangements you need to continue your journey. ^

Our Trip Disruption Expenses benefit is available to provide cover for the reimbursement of your reasonable additional travel, accommodation and meal expenses which you cannot recover from any other source, if a disruption to your trip occurs during your trip which is outside of your control and arises from the reasons covered by your policy and explained in the PDS. ^

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Luggage

Whether it’s a lost suitcase on a weekend getaway or a stolen laptop on a business trip, luggage mishaps can happen anytime. Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance provides cover for your luggage and personal items including phones, cameras, and laptops if they are lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged in a covered situation. ^

Limits and sub-limits apply to how much you can claim for each item. Conditions including situations in which we would provide cover apply. ^

Overseas Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation Expenses

If you become unexpectedly sick or injured while travelling overseas, getting emergency medical help overseas can make all the difference. Fast Cover may be able to provide cover for the reasonable cost of getting you to the nearest hospital or even flying you back to Australia, in circumstances covered under your policy. ^

This cover might be especially valuable for cruise travellers, where a medical evacuation from a ship may be required. With cruise cover automatically included in Frequent Traveller Saver policy , you’ll have cover if you need to be transferred off a ship to a hospital on shore or brought back home to for treatment depending on your circumstances. ^

Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses

An unexpected trip to a hospital overseas is the last thing you want on your itinerary. If you’re struck with Bali Belly, break a bone in the US, or need surgery in Europe, Fast Cover may be able to help with overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses in circumstances covered under your policy. ^

Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance cover can provide cover against the financial burden of reasonable and unexpected medical treatment, hospital stays, and prescribed medications you may need while overseas due to illness or injury, where these costs are not otherwise reimbursed. ^

For cruise holidays, the same cover applies. An unplanned visit to the on-board doctor is never ideal, but if you become unexpectedly sick or injured while on your overseas cruise or on-board an Australian cruise, this benefit can provide cover for the medical expenses you incur to see the ship’s doctor, in situations covered under your policy. However, this benefit does not extend to medical expenses or transportation provided on land in Australia. ^

Overseas 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance

Even experienced travellers can encounter unexpected medical emergencies while travelling. We’re here to help with Aussie based support when you need it most. Fast Cover’s Aussie based team of experts are available to provide 24/7 support for overseas medical emergencies wherever you are, depending on your situation and location. ^

Depending on your circumstances, Fast Cover’s Emergency Medical Assistance team may be able to assist you during unexpected medical emergencies overseas by:

  • Locating and arrange overseas medical treatment or hospital admission
  • Coordinating approved medical evacuation or repatriation
  • Providing guidance on accessing local medical support services. ^

Every trip is different, especially if you travel often throughout the year. While Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance already includes a wide range of benefits, you also have the flexibility to add optional extras to customise your annual multi-trip policy to include cover for a range of activities and adventures to suit the types of journeys you take throughout the year. Planning Multiple Trips This Year?

Whether it’s a quick getaway or your tenth flight this year, stay covered every time you travel with Fast Cover’s annual multi-trip travel insurance.^

Do I Need Multi-Trip Travel Insurance?

Whether you’re taking regular business flights, family holidays, or quick weekend escapes, Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance makes it easier to stay covered for every trip you take within a year. ^

If you’re wondering whether you need multi-trip travel insurance or if it’s right for you, here are some common situations you might want to  consider, and how our Frequent Traveller Saver policy may provide cover for them.

Going on Multiple Trips Within the Year

If you travel more than once a year whether it’s for work, family visits, or leisure, a multi-trip policy can save you time and effort. Rather than arranging separate single trip policies, you’ll be covered for unlimited trips during a 12-month period, each up to your chosen trip duration (15, 25, 40, or 63 days). ^

This option can be especially useful for frequent flyers, business travellers, or couples who take regular short holidays. The Frequent Traveller Saver policy ensures consistent cover every time you travel, including cover for overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses, trip cancellation expenses, and cover for your luggage and personal items. ^

Automatic Cruise Cover

If your travel plans include one or more cruises, whether it’s a short domestic journey or an international voyage, Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance includes automatic cruise cover at no extra cost. This means your medical, cancellation, and luggage benefits can still apply while you’re on board the cruise ship, subject to policy limits, terms and conditions. ^

Getting Sick or Injured During Your Holiday

When you’re travelling multiple times a year, the last thing you want is the stress of unexpected medical bills overseas. Whether it’s food poisoning in Asia, a broken bone in Europe, or a sudden illness while on a cruise, Fast Cover’s multi trip travel insurance gives you medical cover wherever you go. ^

This includes cover for overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses if you become unexpectedly sick or injured while travelling, helping with the financial burden of medical expenses. You’ll also have access to Fast Cover’s 24/7 Emergency Assistance team, who may be able to help arrange medical treatment, coordinate evacuation or repatriation, and guide you through local medical services when the unexpected happens. ^

Accidental Death and Permanent Disability

No one wants to think about the worst-case scenarios, but accidents can happen during travel

Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance includes Accidental Death and Permanent Disability benefits, which can provide financial assistance if a covered accident or event results in death or permanent disability while travelling. ^

Non-Refundable Expenses from Cancelling Your Trip

If unexpected illness, injury, or another covered event requires you to cancel one of your trips, your Trip Cancellation Expenses benefit may help reimburse non-refundable prepaid costs such as flights, accommodation, or tours.

Your cover begins from your selected policy start date and applies to eligible trips taken within your policy period. Eligible trips are those that fall within your chosen trip duration (15, 25, 40 or 63 days) and are not impacted by general exclusions in the policy (for example, cancellation caused by war or other excluded events). ^

Trip Delays or Disruptions

Frequent travellers know plans can change, from natural disasters or airline strikes. The Trip Disruption Expenses and Travel Delay Expenses benefits available under your Frequent Traveller Saver policy may help with the reasonable cost of additional meals, accommodation, or alternative transport if your travel is disrupted by reasons covered under your policy. ^

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Luggage

When you travel often, lost, stolen or damaged luggage and personal items doesn’t just affect one trip, it can create ongoing hassles that disrupt your future plans too. Replacing essentials like your   laptop, camera, or favourite travel gear between journeys can be costly.

With Fast Cover’s Luggage and Personal Effects benefit, cover is available to protect against loss, theft, or accidental damage to your luggage and personal belongings on any trip throughout the year. Benefit limits, sub-limits, and conditions apply, so it’s important to check your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for full details. ^

These are only some of the situations that you might wish to consider when deciding if you need multi-trip travel insurance. Before you decide whether you need multi-trip travel insurance for your trip, you should read the PDS to check what our travel insurance will and won’t cover you for, any conditions and exclusions that might apply to you and whether the policy provides the cover that you’re looking for. Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation or needs.

What is the Best Multi-Trip Travel Insurance?

To get the best multi-trip travel insurance various factors need to be considered including whether it is a policy that provides cover for the types of trips that you’re taking. When looking for the best multi-trip travel insurance, it’s important to choose a policy that aligns with your specific travel needs. This might include how often you travel, the duration of your trips, who you are travelling with, the types of activities you plan to do and other considerations that apply to you and your trip.

Here are some examples of things you may wish to consider when looking for the best annual multi-trip travel insurance for your travels. These examples may also help you compare multi-trip travel insurance policies to help you decide which policy is right for you:

Consider the Level of Cover You Need

Many travellers worry about whether their policy provides enough cover for the types of trips they have planned. When comparing multi-trip travel insurance, check the benefits to see what each policy actually covers and what the benefit limits are.

Fast Cover’s Frequent Traveller Saver policy is designed for travellers who want a higher level of cover across multiple trips each year. Benefits include:

  • Unlimited Overseas Emergency Medical Expenses and Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
  • Unlimited Trip Cancellation
  • Accidental Death and Permanent Disability

It’s designed for frequent travellers who want the highest level of cover available across multiple trips each year. Always review the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to see whether the policy you’re considering provides the right level of cover for your trips.

Cruise Cover for Frequent Cruise Travellers

Some travel insurance policies require you to pay an additional premium to add cover for travelling on a cruise ship and forgetting to do so could mean you won’t be covered while at sea.

Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance automatically includes cruise cover at no extra cost. Whether you’re going on multiple cruises at different times throughout the year or embarking on back-to-back cruises, cruise cover is always included with our Frequent Traveller Saver policies. Medical benefits, cancellation cover and luggage benefits can still apply while you’re on board, giving you continuous cover across land and sea. ^

When comparing multi-trip policies, make sure to check whether cruise cover is included or optional, and what limits apply.

Consider Trip Cancellation Benefits

If an unexpected event requires you to cancel one or more of your trips, the costs can add up quickly, especially if you’ve already paid for flights, tours, or accommodation that aren’t refundable.

When comparing multi-trip policies, consider checking the maximum cancellation benefit limits and the range of covered events. Understanding these details can make it easier to choose a multi-trip policy that fits your budget and supports your travel lifestyle, giving you the freedom to plan multiple trips each year without the stress of losing your prepaid booking deposits if your plans change due to covered events.

Consider Medical Cover

Getting sick or injured overseas can be stressful and medical bills can quickly add up, especially in destinations like the United States or Europe.

With Fast Cover’s multi trip travel insurance, you’ll have ongoing medical cover every time you travel during your policy period, without needing to buy a new policy each trip.  You’ll have access to Fast Cover’s Australian-based 24/7 Emergency Assistance team, ready to help organise medical care or evacuation when needed. ^

When comparing multi-trip policies, check if they provide unlimited medical cover or if limits apply. Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance includes cover for 24/7 Emergency Assistance team and cover for unlimited overseas emergency medical expenses.

Consider Cover for Existing Medical Conditions

Existing medical conditions often hold travellers back from going on multiple trips. Consider if your multi-trip policy can provide cover for your existing medical condition.

Fast Cover’s multi-trip travel insurance is available to provide cover for a range of existing medical conditions, helping you stay protected on every journey, without the need to take out a new policy each time you travel. Simply complete a medical screening online or over the phone to determine if cover is available for your condition. Once approved, you’ll enjoy year-round cover under our Frequent Traveller Saver policy, so you can spend less time on paperwork and more time planning your adventures, whether it’s a weekend getaway or an overseas business trip.

To find out more about our medical screening process, and how the policy will apply in relation to an existing medical condition and any changes in health, please read and consider the PDS for eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits that apply.

Consider What Activities You’ll Be Doing

Frequent travellers know that every trip is different, from hiring a car for a road trip to hopping on a scooter to explore a new city. With Fast Cover’s Frequent Traveller Saver Policy, you can customise your multi-trip travel insurance with optional extras for an additional premium to provide cover for a wide range of activities and adventures all year round.

You may wish to check whether your multi-trip travel insurance policy allows you to add optional cover for the types of activities and adventure activities you plan to do throughout the year. Keep in mind, cover for activities like motorcycle riding and adventure activities may incur an additional premium and may have different age limits to standard terms.

Consider Who You’ll Be Travelling With

When comparing multi-trip travel insurance options, check whether the policy you’re considering also allows cover for your spouse and dependants. Not all insurers offer this flexibility, so it’s worth ensuring the policy suits how and who you travel with.

Fast Cover’s annual multi-trip travel insurance allows you to include your spouse and dependent children or grandchildren under one convenient policy, as long as you’re travelling together on the same itinerary for each trip. Our Frequent Traveller Saver policy makes it easy for couples and families who travel regularly to enjoy continuous, year-round cover with just one policy every time you take off together. ^

These are just some of the considerations that you might wish to consider when reviewing the best multi-trip travel insurance, so you know what cover is available to you before and during your trip and under what conditions.

Before you decide on the best multi-trip travel insurance for your trip, you should read the PDS to check what the policy will and won’t cover you for, any conditions and exclusions that might apply to you and whether the policy provides the cover that you’re looking for. Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation or needs.

Multi-Trip Travel Insurance with an Existing Medical Condition

Having an existing medical condition doesn’t mean you can’t get travel insurance. With Fast Cover, you may be able to get multi-trip travel insurance that includes cover for your existing medical condition.

To find our if we can provide cover for your existing medical condition, you’ll need to complete a medical screening during your quote journey where you tell us about:

  • Any medical or pregnancy conditions you have or have had during the period of 3 years prior to your policy issue date and
  • Any new medical or pregnancy conditions that develop, or changes to your health, after your policy issue date and before you depart on your trip.

Approved conditions will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance. Please note that for multi trip policies, existing medical conditions can only be added for the main traveller. You are not able to add cover for any existing medical conditions for spouse or dependants listed under the multi trip policy.

It’s important that you declare all relevant medical or pregnancy conditions when you apply for a quote. If your condition is approved through the medical screening process, it will be listed as covered on your Certificate of Insurance. Any relevant medical or pregnancy condition that is not declared or not listed on your Certificate of Insurance will not be covered.

Please keep in mind that some existing medical conditions may require you to pay an additional cost for them to be covered under your policy. You have the choice to either pay for this additional cost or not. If you choose to pay, the condition will be added to your policy and shown on your Certificate of Insurance. If you choose not to pay, that condition will not be covered.

You must declare any changes in health that occur after your policy purchase date, including changes in health that happen during or after your first trip and before your following trips commence. You will need to contact Fast Cover for a medical re-screening. This process may adjust your premium and will determine whether your condition can continue to be covered.

How to Apply for Cover for Existing Medical Conditions

If you have any existing medical conditions, you may be able to apply to include cover for them during your trip. Our simple medical screening process can be completed online or over the phone to help you find out if your medical condition or pregnancy condition can be covered under your Comprehensive travel insurance policy.

How to Get Multi-Trip Travel Insurance

Getting multi-trip travel insurance with Fast Cover is simple. Here’s how to get started with Fast Cover’s Frequent Traveller Saver policy:

Select Your Cover

Pick your region and choose the maximum trip length for each journey : 15, 25, 40, 63 days per trip.

Select Who Needs Cover

Are you travelling by yourself, or with a spouse or dependants? If travelling with a spouse or dependants, make sure you select ‘Yes’ to travelling with them.

Add Optional Extras

Include any extras you’d like to add to your policy.

Enter Traveller Details

Add all travellers’ information to your policy and declare any existing medical conditions for the main policy holder.

What is Not Covered in our Multi-Trip Travel Insurance?

It’s important to know not just what your travel insurance covers, but also what it doesn’t, so you can choose the right policy for your needs. As with all policies, many situations and activities will have terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits that you need to be aware of and consider before buying travel insurance.

Below are some examples of when cover may not be available. Always check the PDS and TMD to understand the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits before making your decision to buy.

If you become injured while breaking the law

If you’re injured while breaking the law overseas, your multi-trip travel insurance is unlikely to provide cover for that incident. This includes situations such as riding a motorcycle without a helmet, driving without a valid licence, or operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Local laws vary between countries, what’s legal in Australia might not be overseas. For example, engaging in illegal drug use or carrying prohibited substances could lead to criminal charges and your claim being declined. Always check local laws before travelling, as travel insurance does not cover illegal activities.

If you are intoxicated or have taken illicit drugs or prohibited substances

Your multi-trip travel insurance policy does not provide cover for any incident that is directly or indirectly related to alcohol or drugs. This means that if you are injured, cause damage, or require medical treatment while under the influence of alcohol, illicit substances, or prohibited drugs, your claim will not be paid.

For example, if you are under the influence of alcohol and you stumble and hurt yourself, you may not have cover under your policy.

Certain drugs are illegal in some countries, and you may not be covered by your international travel insurance policy if you’ve consumed drugs or been involved in drug related activities.

If you do an activity that isn’t covered by your policy

Not every activity is automatically included in your multi-trip travel insurance policy. If you plan to go quad biking in Bali, or riding a motorcycle in Vietnam, you need to make sure you have the right optional extras included.

For example, if you choose not to add the Motorcycle Pack to your Frequent Traveller Saver policy, an accident while riding or being a passenger on a motorcycle, moped or scooter could leave you responsible for all medical expenses.

It is important to think about what activities you will be participating in so that you have the right cover for the activities you plan to do on your trips throughout the year.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Belongings Left Unattended

Luggage and personal effects cover is designed to help if your belongings are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, but you must take reasonable care to protect and secure your luggage and personal items at all times

If you leave your phone, laptop, or wallet unattended on a café table while stepping away, or if you leave your bag on the beach while swimming, any theft or loss may not be covered. Similarly, if your accommodation provides a safe and you choose not to use it, your claim may be affected if valuables are stolen from your room.

Make sure you always keep your belongings with you or keep them in a secure location or take reasonable measures to always secure them and at all places.

Regular medical or dental check-ups

There are exclusions that may apply for regular or routine check-ups, elective treatments or filling regular prescriptions as they are not considered medical emergencies. If you require regular medication, bring enough of what you’ll need for your holiday overseas before you leave Australia. If you choose to have an elective or cosmetic procedure overseas, your multi-trip policy will not cover those expenses. Cover applies only to unexpected illnesses or injuries that occur while travelling. ^

Ignoring official warnings

Should the Australian Government release a warning on official government Smartraveller website that certain areas overseas are no longer safe to travel to and you still choose to travel there anyway, there may be exclusions that will apply such as if you do not follow advice in the mass media where a travel advisory risk rating of Do Not Travel was issued after policy purchase.

Note: We are unable to offer travel insurance to international destinations that have a Do Not Travel warning on official government Smartraveller website. To check which countries we may cover, enter your destination country in the quote box on our website.

Known events

Known events are considered as serious situations, from natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, to disease outbreaks, which can affect your holiday plans and also the cover on your overseas travel insurance policy.

If you buy your multi-trip travel insurance cover after an event is a known event, the cover on your policy may be affected. You should check for any Travel Alerts that may have been issued for your overseas travel destination as well as information on the official government Smartraveller website so you know where you stand with regards to the cover that you will have on your international travel insurance policy.

Disappointing holidays

We understand that not every trip goes exactly as planned, and sometimes things just don’t live up to expectations. Maybe the weather in Bali was not as sunny as you hoped, the crowds in Europe made sightseeing a little harder, or your hotel in Thailand didn’t quite match the photos online.

While these situations can be frustrating, they’re not considered insurable events, which means your annual multi-trip travel insurance is not able to cover them. Travel insurance is designed to step in when unexpected events cause financial loss, not when a trip is less enjoyable than you imagined

Aeach individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms and Certificate of Insurance.

FAQs about Multi-Trip Travel Insurance

The Frequent Traveller Saver policy is designed for people age who take multiple trips in a year and prefer the convenience of having one travel insurance policy to cover them for all those journeys, rather than buying a new policy each time. The policy is available to travellers aged 75 years of age and under.

With this policy, you pay once for the year and can take as many trips as you like, up to the maximum trip duration you’ve selected (for example 25, 25, 40, 63 days or less per trip). Each trip you take during that year is automatically covered within the limits of your policy.

If you will be staying longer than the maximum period for any journey, you can add cover for the additional days by paying an additional premium.

The Frequent Traveller Saver includes many of the same benefits as a Comprehensive policy, such as cover for cancellation, overseas medical emergencies, lost/damaged/stolen luggage and personal effects, travel delays, missed connections, accidental death, permanent disability, loss of income, personal liability, loss of travel documents and credit cards and theft of cash.

For an additional premium, your accompanying spouse/partner and dependent children or grandchildren can also be covered, provided they travel with you 100% of the time.

However, some benefits and limits may differ, and cover is subject to age limits and exclusions as outlined in the PDS.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

With a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, your cancellation cover begins from the start date you choose on your Certificate of Insurance. This means it doesn’t automatically begin on the day you purchase your policy, unless, of course, you’ve selected your purchase date as the policy start date.

This flexibility allows you to decide when you’d like your cover to kick in, whether that’s straight away when you buy it, or from a later date that better suits your travel plans.

Key things to remember:

  • Chosen start date matters: Cancellation cover begins on the start date you’ve nominated, not automatically on the date of purchase.
  • Always check your documents: Your Certificate of Insurance and the PDS outline exactly when cover applies and under what conditions.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

Both the Frequent Traveller Saver and Single Trip policies can cover you for overseas journeys and even allow you to return home during your policy period. The key difference lies in how often you travel, the level of cover you want, and how flexible you need your policy to be.

Frequent Traveller Saver Policy

Ideal for people who know they’ll be taking multiple trips in a 12-month period and want the convenience of one policy for the year.

  • Multiple trips, one policy: Covers unlimited trips within 12 months, up to the maximum trip length you’ve chosen
  • Comprehensive level of cover: Equivalent to our Comprehensive plan, with benefits such as unlimited overseas medical, trip cancellation, and luggage cover.
  • Cruise cover included: Automatically built into the policy.
  • Cancellation cover start date: Begins from the date you nominate on your Certificate of Insurance, not automatically from the purchase date (unless you select that).
  • Tailored to your travel: You can adjust cover options to suit your style of travel.
  • Eligibility: Available to travellers aged 75 years and under.

Single Trip Policy

Ideal if you’re planning just one holiday or a once-off overseas trip.

  • One trip only: Covers a single journey, but you can return home within the period shown on your policy. You may also request an extension if you decide to stay overseas longer (an additional premium may apply).
  • Choice of cover levels: Three options available, Comprehensive, Standard Saver, or Basics, so you can select the right fit for your trip and budget. However, if you choose Snow Sports, the policy available is Snow Sports Plus.
  • Optional extras: Customise your policy with additional cover, such as Cruise Pack or Snow Pack, for an extra premium.
  • Eligibility: Available to travellers aged 89 years and under.

Price differences

Premiums vary based on factors such as:

  • Your travel destination(s).
  • How long you’ll be away.
  • The level of cover and optional extras you choose.

You can compare prices for both policy types online at fastcover.com.au or speak to our friendly team on 1300 409 322 to help you find the right option for your trip.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

Yes, your spouse or dependants can be added to your Frequent Traveller Saver policy for an additional premium. To be covered, they must:

  • Travel with you on the same itinerary for 100% of the time
  • Be 75 years of age or younger at the time of policy purchase.

This option means your family can share the same policy and benefit from the same level of cover, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. However, if they have existing medical conditions they will have to consider buying their own policy.

As with all policies, cover is subject to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions set out in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

One of my trips is longer than the number of days on my Frequent Traveller Saver policy, what do I do?

If your trip is going to be longer than the trip duration you’ve chosen on your Frequent Traveller Saver policy (for example 15, 25, 40, 63 days), you have two options:

  1. Upgrade your Frequent Traveller Saver policy to a higher trip duration before the start date of your journey.
  2. Purchase an additional Single Trip policy to cover the extra days beyond your Frequent Traveller Saver limit.
  3. If you are already overseas and an unexpected emergency occurs that requires you to stay for more than 63 days, please contact the Fast Cover Travel Insurance customer service team on 1300 409 322 or email info@fastcover.com.au

Please note that if you are aware prior to purchasing the policy that your trip will exceed 63 days, you will not be eligible for cover under the Frequent Traveller Saver policy.

If your Frequent Traveller Saver policy already includes cover for your spouse or dependants:

  • You’ll need to purchase a Duo policy if your spouse is included.
  • You’ll need to purchase a Family policy if both your spouse and dependants are included.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

For a spouse to be covered under a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, they must:

  • Depart and return with you, and
  • Travel with you for 100% of the trip.

If your spouse is only travelling with you for part of your journey, she won’t be eligible to be covered under your Frequent Traveller Saver policy. In that case, she would need to purchase her own separate policy to ensure she is covered for her travel.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

When you buy a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, you’ll need to choose one of these geographical regions for your journeys:

  • Asia & South Pacific
  • Europe
  • Worldwide

Your cover applies to the region you’ve nominated (or any lower region). For example, if you select Worldwide, you’ll also be covered for trips to Europe or Asia.

A few important things to know:

  • While travelling within Australia (at least 200km from home), cover is only available under certain benefit sections listed in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). There is no cover under any policy if your destination is less than 200 km from home.
  • The maximum length of any one trip is shown on your Certificate of Insurance, you can choose from 15, 25, 40, or 63 days per trip.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

The cancellation benefit on a Frequent Traveller Saver policy begins on the start date you choose when you set up your policy. This means it’s up to you whether cover begins straight away or only from the day you leave on your first trip.

Here’s how it works:

  • If you choose your purchase date as the start date of Trip Cancellation Benefit

Your cancellation cover begins immediately. For example, if you buy your policy four weeks before your trip and select the purchase date as the start date, you’ll have cancellation cover during those four weeks. If something unexpected happens (like an injury) and you can’t travel, you can submit a claim for cancellation costs (subject to policy terms and conditions).

  • If you choose your departure date as the start date of Trip Cancellation Benefit

Your cancellation cover only begins on the day you leave. Using the same example, if you get injured two weeks before your trip but you selected your departure date as the start date, there would be no cancellation cover in place for that time.

So, cancellation cover does apply to your first trip, but it only starts from the date you’ve nominated on your Certificate of Insurance.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

A Frequent Traveller Saver policy is designed for multiple trips within a 12-month period, but each trip must start and end at your home in Australia. In other words, you’ll need to return home between trips for them to be covered.

When you buy this policy, you choose the maximum length for each trip, 15, 25, 40, or 63 days. If you stay overseas longer than the maximum trip duration you’ve chosen, any claims that happen outside that timeframe will not be covered.

What you can do if one trip is longer but shorter than or equal to 63 days:

  • Upgrade your Frequent Traveller Saver policy to a longer trip duration (up to 63 days per trip).
  • Or, purchase a Single Trip policy to cover the extra days beyond your Frequent Traveller Saver limit.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
