Please note we can only provide cover for the circumstances and situations covered by your travel insurance policy and listed in your Certificate of Insurance so always review the PDS before deciding whether you need travel insurance and which policy is right for you.

Trip Cancellation Expenses

Cancelled holidays can be both disappointing and expensive, especially if you have paid for flights, accommodation, or tours. If you become unexpectedly ill, injured, or experience another event under your policy that forces you to cancel your trip, Fast Cover’s Trip Cancellation Expenses benefit may reimburse the non-refundable costs you’ve already paid. ^

Standard Saver travel insurance can be purchased up to 12 months before your departure date, allowing you to cover pre-paid trip costs even before you book your flights or accommodation. This flexibility may help reduce the impact of unexpected events that may affect your travel plans before you leave Australia. ^

Trip Disruptions Expenses

Sometimes, even after your trip begins, unexpected events can disrupt your plans. Unforeseen events like natural disaster and strikes can cause your scheduled or connecting transport to be cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted.

Fast Cover’s Trip Disruption Expenses benefit may cover reasonable additional travel and accommodation expenses you incur while you’re still on your trip if the disruption occurs for reasons covered under your policy. ^

Expenses must be unrecoverable from another source, and the event must be one that began after your Certificate of Insurance was issued. Full details, including conditions and exclusions, are outlined in the PDS. ^

Overseas Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation Expenses

If you become seriously sick or injured while overseas, having access to emergency medical care can make a huge difference. Fast Cover’s standard travel insurance may be able to help with the cost of getting you to the nearest hospital for emergency medical treatment or even flying you back to Australia, in circumstances covered under your policy. ^

Our Standard Saver policy is available to provide cover for your reasonable additional accommodation and travel expenses, medical transfer, evacuation or repatriation if you must be transported to the nearest hospital for emergency medical treatment or be brought back to Australia with appropriate medical supervision. The medical transfer, evacuation or repatriation must first be approved by Fast Cover. ^

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Luggage

When your luggage goes missing or valuable personal items are damaged or stolen overseas, it can cause inconvenience and additional costs. Our Standard Saver travel insurance policy may include cover for your luggage and personal items such as laptops, cameras, and phones if they are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged in situations covered under your policy. ^

Benefit limits and sub-limits apply to how much can be claimed for each item, and conditions set out when and how cover applies. ^

Overseas Emergency Dental

Sudden dental pain or an accidental tooth injury can quickly disrupt your trip. Fast Cover’s Standard Saver policy may cover the cost of emergency dental treatment if you suffer acute pain or damage to your sound and natural teeth while overseas. ^

Personal Liability

Sometimes travel-related incidents may involve other people as well as yourself. At Fast Cover, the Personal Liability benefit is available to provide cover for legal claims made against you for the payment of compensation in respect of:

  • Someone else’s death or injury, and/or
  • The physical loss of, or damage to, someone else’s property.

This applies where the loss, injury, or damage is caused by an accident or a series of accidents attribute to one source or originating because that occurs during your trip.

Your reasonable legal expenses, up to the limits set out in the benefit summary in our PDS, may also be covered for settling or defending on the above legal claims made against you, where the claim is covered by the policy. ^

It is important to understand that cover for personal liability does not apply in every situation and general exclusions apply. For example, personal liability does not cover unlawful activities or the use of certain vehicles. Always refer to the PDS for full details of what is and isn’t covered, as well as the limits and sub-limits that apply. ^

Optional Extras for your Standard Travel Insurance

When to Choose Standard Saver Over Basics or Comprehensive?

Choosing the right level of travel insurance depends on the type of trip you’re taking, what you’d like covered, and how much you’re comfortable spending. The Standard Saver policy sits in the middle of Fast Cover’s policy options, offering a practical balance between essential medical cover and additional benefits. It’s designed for travellers who want more than just medical cover but don’t need the extensive inclusions of a Comprehensive policy.

Below are a few things to consider when deciding if the Standard Saver policy is the right fit for your trip:

Consider the Budget and Level of Cover You Need

When choosing the best Standard Saver travel insurance policy, think about how much cover you actually need and how that fits your travel budget.

The Standard Saver option might suit travellers who want more than basic medical cover but don’t need every benefit found in a Comprehensive policy.

At Fast Cover, the Standard Saver policy includes benefits such as:

  • Unlimited Overseas Emergency Medical Expenses
  • Unlimited Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
  • Trip Cancellation Expenses
  • Trip Disruption Expenses
  • Passports, Credit Cards & Credit Card Fraud

If you’re comparing options, start by looking at what the policy includes, from emergency medical expenses and cancellation benefits to passport and disruption cover. Understanding the range and limit of benefits will help you decide whether a standard travel insurance policy is the most suitable option for your trip.

A Mid-Level Policy That Balances Value and Coverage

The Standard Saver policy sits between Fast Cover’s Basics and Comprehensive options, offering more inclusions than Basics, at a lower cost than Comprehensive. It’s designed for travellers who want balanced protection without paying for cover they may not need.

When Standard Saver May Be Suitable

This level of cover may suit travellers who want protection for more than just overseas medical expense. It includes benefits for Trip Cancellation Expenses, Luggage and Personal Effects, and Trip Disruption Expenses, which aren’t available under our Basics policy.

Situations Where You Might Consider Comprehensive Cover Instead

If you’re planning a huge trip where you might need unlimited cover for Trip Cancellation Expenses or want to be covered for Accidental Death, Permanent Disability or Loss of Income, you may want to look at the added benefits available under the Comprehensive policy. Comparing both helps ensure you select the right level of cover for your travel plans.

Check the Details Before You Decide

Always read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Target Market Determination (TMD) before purchasing. These documents explain what’s included, limits, exclusions, and who each level of cover is designed for, helping you choose the option that fits your circumstances

Need More Than Basic Cover for Your Next Trip?

Whether you’re heading off on a family holiday, exploring new cities, or taking a well-earned break overseas, Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance offers more than just medical cover without the higher cost of Comprehensive.

Standard Saver Medical Travel Insurance

Having an existing medical condition doesn’t mean you can’t get travel insurance. With Fast Cover, you may be able to get a Standard Saver travel insurance policy that includes cover for your existing medical condition under applicable policy benefits.

To find our if we can provide cover for your condition, you’ll need to complete a medical screening during your quote journey where you tell us about:

  • Any medical or pregnancy conditions you have or have had during the period of 3 years prior to your policy issue date and
  • Any new medical or pregnancy conditions that develop, or changes to your health, after your policy issue date and before you depart on your trip.

It’s important that you declare all relevant medical or pregnancy conditions when you apply for a quote. If your condition is approved through the medical screening process, it will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance and will then be included under your cover. Any relevant medical or pregnancy condition that is not declared or not listed on your Certificate of Insurance will not be covered.

Please keep in mind that some existing medical conditions may require you to pay an additional cost for them to be included under your cover. You have the choice to either pay for this additional cost or not. If you choose to pay, the condition will be added to your policy and shown on your Certificate of Insurance. If you choose not to pay, that condition will not be covered.

If your health changes after purchasing your policy but before you travel, you will need to contact Fast Cover for a medical re-screening. This process may adjust your premium and will determine whether your condition can continue to be covered

How to Apply for Cover for Existing Medical Conditions

If you have any existing medical conditions, you may be able to apply to include cover for them during your trip. Our simple medical screening process can be completed online or over the phone to help you find out if your medical condition or pregnancy condition can be covered under your Standard Saver travel insurance policy.

Select Who Needs Cover

Once you've added all travellers, to your policy, you can select those who wish to add cover for any existing medical conditions.

Take a Medical Screening

Answer a few questions online or over the phone about your health history. This helps us determine if your condition can be covered.

Choose to Add Cover

We'll let you know if we can provide cover for any existing medical conditions. You can then choose to add it to your policy.

To find out more about our medical screening process, and how the policy will apply in relation to an existing medical condition, please read and consider the PDS for eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, exclusions, limits, and sub limits that apply.

Do I Need Standard Travel Insurance?

Whether you need Standard Saver travel insurance really depends on your trip and what you want to be covered for, because even the most carefully planned holidays can take an unexpected turn. If you’re after more than just medical cover, but don’t need all the extras included in a Comprehensive policy, the Standard Saver plan could be the ideal middle ground.

When deciding if Standard Saver travel insurance is right for you, think about your travel plans and what could go wrong along the way. Below are a few common situations where the Standard Saver policy may help cover unexpected situations and keep your trip on track.

Non-Refundable Expenses from Cancelling Your Trip

Most overseas trips require paying deposits or upfront costs for flights, accommodation, or tours. If you become unexpectedly ill or injured and must cancel your plans, you could lose a significant amount of money.

Consider if your standard travel insurance can provide cover for trip cancellation expenses as this can help to prevent you or your loved ones from having to absorb the full financial loss yourself.

Cancelling your Trip Due to Existing Medical Conditions

If you need to cancel your trip before departure due to an existing medical condition, you could face significant out-of-pocket expenses.

You may wish to check if you need to complete a medical screening and whether your standard saver travel insurance policy can provide cover for trip cancellation expenses if you need to cancel your trip due to your existing medical conditions. This ensures you know exactly what you’re covered for before you travel.

Getting Sick or Injured During your Trip

Becoming sick or injured while travelling overseas can be both stressful and expensive. In destinations such as the United States or parts of Europe, hospital and medical costs can quickly reach tens of thousands of dollars.

Consider if your standard travel insurance policy includes cover for overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses, and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation if you need to return home under medical supervision.

These benefits are particularly important for destinations with high healthcare costs, providing essential support during unexpected medical emergencies.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Belongings

Lost or stolen luggage and quickly disrupt your trip. Consider if your standard policy includes cover for luggage and personal effects, including clothing, phones, and laptops.

Trip Disruptions

Unforeseen events such as natural disasters and strikes could change your travel plans or leave you stranded.

The Trip Disruption Expenses benefit available under the Standard Saver travel insurance policy may help with the reasonable cost of additional meals, accommodation, or alternative transport if your travel is disrupted by reasons covered under your policy. ^

Consider if your standard travel insurance provides cover for trip disruption expenses.

These are only some of the situations that you might wish to consider when deciding if you need standard travel insurance.

Before you decide whether you need standard travel insurance for your next trip, you should read the PDS to check what our travel insurance will and won’t cover you for, any conditions and exclusions that might apply to you and whether the policy provides the cover that you’re looking for. Any advice provided here is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation or needs.

Where Is Your Next Destination?

From exploring temples in Bali to discovering cities across Europe or relaxing on a Pacific Island escape, Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance provides balanced cover for your next adventure, more than basic medical, without the Comprehensive price tag.

What is the Best Standard Travel Insurance?

When travellers search for the best standard travel insurance, there isn’t one single policy that suits everyone, what’s suitable for a couple taking a European holiday might not be right for a solo traveller heading to Bali or a family travelling across the USA. The best standard travel insurance can be considered as a policy that provides cover for the type of trip that you’re taking.

Here are some examples of things you may wish to consider when reviewing the best standard travel insurance that may also help you compare standard travel insurance policies to help you decide which policy is right for you:

Consider Medical Cover

What if you get sick or injured overseas and require medical assistance? Medical costs overseas can be much higher than at home, and even a short hospital stay may become expensive.

Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance is designed to include unlimited cover for overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses, as well as unlimited emergency medical evacuation and repatriation if you need to be transported to another location or returned to Australia under medical supervision.

When comparing standard travel insurance policies, you may wish to check the medical benefits and benefit limits available to help you decide which standard travel insurance is the best option for you.

Consider Trip Cancellation Benefits

If an unexpected event forces you to cancel your trip, the costs can add up quickly, especially if you’ve already paid for flights, tours, or accommodation that aren’t refundable.

Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance includes cover for Trip Cancellation Expenses, which may help reimburse you for eligible expenses if your trip is cancelled due to a covered event such as an unexpected illness, injury or other covered event.

When reviewing policies, check the maximum cancellation benefit limit,  sub-limits and the types of events that qualify for reimbursement. Understanding these details can make it easier to compare standard travel insurance policies and find one that aligns with your budget and travel commitments.

Consider Your Travel Dates and Destinations

Some standard travel insurance policies offer cover for extended or multi-destination travel, so you’re covered under a single policy for the duration of your journey.

With Fast Cover, you can include multiple destinations under a single trip policy for up to 24 months, allowing you to move between countries without buying separate policies. Reviewing how long your cover lasts and how it applies across destinations helps ensure your insurance matches the full length and scope of your trip.

When comparing standard travel insurance options, check how long your cover lasts, whether it includes all your destinations, and whether you can extend it mid-trip if your plans change.

Consider the Risk of Natural Disasters or Unexpected Events

Natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions can disrupt travel plans with little notice, leaving travellers stranded or facing unexpected costs. If you're heading to a region where these risks are more common, it’s essential to check whether your policy includes trip disruption cover for such events.

Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance may help with reasonable additional costs, such as alternative accommodation and transport, when your trip is interrupted due to a covered event. ^

Looking closely at how a standard travel insurance policy treats natural disasters can give you a clearer picture of whether it meets the needs of your trip.

Consider Cover for Existing Medical Conditions

Existing medical conditions often hold travellers back from going on a trip. Consider if your standard travel insurance policy can provide cover for your existing medical condition.

Fast Cover’s Standard Saver policy is available to provide cover for a range of existing medical conditions, helping you stay covered on your holiday. Simply complete a medical screening online or over the phone to determine if cover is available for your condition. Once approved, your existing medical condition will be included in your policy. ^

Consider the Activities You’ll Be Doing

The type of activities you plan on doing during your trip can have impact on the level of cover you need. Some travellers are simply sightseeing or relaxing, while others might be heading overseas for adventures like quad biking or hiking above 3000 meters, or even riding a motorcycle.

With Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance policy, you can customise your policy with optional extras for an additional premium to provide cover for a wide range of activities and adventures.

When comparing standard travel insurance, check whether the policy allows you to add optional cover for the types of activities and adventure you plan to do.

These are just some of the considerations that you might wish to consider when reviewing the best standard travel insurance, so you know what cover is available to you before and during your trip and under what conditions.

Before you decide on the best standard travel insurance for your trip, you should read the PDS to check what the policy will and won’t cover you for, any conditions and exclusions that might apply to you and whether the policy provides the cover that you’re looking for. Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation or needs.

Compare Standard Saver Travel Insurance Benefits

The level of travel insurance you choose determines the type of cover you receive for your trip. Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance offers mid-level cover, providing more than just medical benefits, without the higher limits of our Comprehensive policy.

Compare our policies below to find the level of cover that best fits your travel plans and budget.

The table below is only a summary of benefits. Each level of cover is subject to full policy terms, conditions, limits, sub-limits, and exclusions as per our PDS available on our website. Benefit limits shown apply per person for both Singles and Duo policies. # These benefit limits are shared between Duo policy holders. ~ These benefit limits are shared between travellers under a Family policy. This means the benefit amount is for the whole family to be used together, not for each person separately. ^ Cover under these benefits are excluded while travelling within Australia. If you hold a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, the benefit limits apply to the combined total of all claims made by all covered travellers (including an accompanying spouse/partner and dependants) listed on the Certificate of Insurance.

What is Not Covered by Our Standard Saver Travel Insurance?

It’s important to know not just what your standard travel insurance covers, but also what it doesn’t, so you can choose the right policy for your needs. As with all policies, many situations and activities will have terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits that you need to be aware of and consider before buying travel insurance.

Here are some examples of when cover may not be available. Always check the PDS and TMD to understand the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits before making your decision to buy.

Accidental Death, Permanent Disability and Loss of Income

Serious accidents can happen during your holiday. Standard Saver travel insurance policy does not provide cover for Accidental Death, Permanent Disability, and Loss of Income benefits

If you wish to be covered for this, you can consider upgrading your policy to Comprehensive policy. These benefits can provide a lump sum amount of money to you or your estate if a covered accident results in death or a permanent disability while overseas. ^

These benefits may help ease the financial strain that serious incidents may cause, providing additional support to your loved ones or helping you adjust after a life changing event. ^

Travel Delay Expenses

Travel delays are a common part of international travel and can occur for many unexpected reasons, from severe weather to civil protests.

If you incur additional expenses because of a travel delay, our Standard Saver policy does not reimburse you for the additional reasonable meals and accommodation during the delay.

If you wish to have cover under the Travel Delay Expenses benefit, you may want to consider upgrading your policy to Comprehensive policy. Under the Comprehensive travel insurance policy, cover may be available for up to $200 per traveller (excluding dependants) for every 24-hour period you are delayed, provided the delay lasts at least six hours and meets the policy’s conditions. ^

If you become injured while breaking the law

If you’re injured while breaking the law overseas, your Standard Saver travel insurance is unlikely to provide cover for that incident. This includes situations such as riding a motorcycle without a helmet, driving without a valid licence, or operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Local laws vary between countries, what’s legal in Australia might not be overseas. For example, engaging in illegal drug use or carrying prohibited substances could lead to criminal charges and your claim being declined. Always check local laws before travelling, as travel insurance does not cover illegal activities.

If you are intoxicated or have taken illicit drugs or prohibited substances

Your travel insurance policy does not provide cover for any incident that is directly or indirectly related to alcohol or drugs. This means that if you are injured, cause damage, or require medical treatment while under the influence of alcohol, illicit substances, or prohibited drugs, your claim will not be paid.

For example, if you’re under the influence of alcohol and you stumble and hurt yourself, you may not have cover under your policy.

Certain drugs are illegal in some countries, and you may not be covered by your international travel insurance policy when you’ve consumed drugs or been involved in drug related activities.

If you do an activity that isn’t covered by your policy

Not every activity is automatically included in your Standard Saver travel insurance policy. If you plan to go quad biking in Bali, or riding a motorcycle in Vietnam, you need to make sure you have the right optional extras included.

For example, if you choose not to add the Motorcycle Pack to your Standard Saver policy, an accident while riding or being a passenger on a motorcycle, moped or scooter could leave you responsible for all medical expenses.

It is important to think about what activities you will be participating in so that you have the right cover for the activities you plan to do on your trips throughout the year.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Belongings Left Unattended

Luggage and personal effects cover is designed to help if your belongings are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, but you must take reasonable care to protect and secure your luggage and personal items at all times

If you leave your phone, laptop, or wallet unattended on a café table while stepping away, or if you leave your bag on the beach while swimming, any theft or loss may not be covered. Similarly, if your accommodation provides a safe and you choose not to use it, your claim may be affected if valuables are stolen from your room.

Make sure you always keep your belongings with you or keep them in a secure location or take reasonable measures to always secure them and at all places.

Regular medical or dental check-ups

There are exclusions that may apply for regular or routine check-ups, elective treatments or filling regular prescriptions as they are not considered medical emergencies.

If you require regular medication, bring enough of what you’ll need for your holiday overseas before you leave Australia. If you choose to have an elective or cosmetic procedure overseas, your travel insurance policy will not cover those expenses.

Cover applies only to unexpected illnesses or injuries that occur while travelling. ^

Ignoring official warnings

Should the Australian Government release a warning on official government Smartraveller website that certain areas overseas are no longer safe to travel to and you still choose to travel there anyway, there may be exclusions that will apply such as if you do not follow advice in the mass media where a travel advisory risk rating of Do Not Travel was issued after policy purchase.

Note: We are unable to offer travel insurance to international destinations that have a ‘Do Not Travel’ warning on official government Smartraveller website. To check which countries we may cover, enter your destination country in the quote box on our website.

Known events

Known events are usually serious situations, from natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, to disease outbreaks, which can affect your holiday plans and also the cover on your overseas travel insurance policy.

If you buy your Standard Saver travel insurance after an event is a known event, the cover on your policy may be affected. You should check for any Travel Alerts that may have been issued for your overseas travel destination as well as information on the official government Smartraveller website so you know where you stand with regards to the cover that you will have on your international travel insurance policy.

Disappointing holidays

We understand that not every trip goes exactly as planned, and sometimes things just don’t live up to expectations. Maybe the weather in Bali was not as sunny as you hoped, the crowds in Europe made sightseeing a little harder, or your hotel in Thailand didn’t quite match the photos online.

While these situations can be frustrating, they’re not considered insurable events, which means your travel insurance policy is not able to cover them. Travel insurance is designed to step in when unexpected events cause financial loss, not when a trip is less enjoyable than you imagined.

As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms and Certificate of Insurance.

FAQs about Standard Saver Travel Insurance

Our Comprehensive policies provide you with more cover for your trip, and the benefit limits are also higher compared to the Standard Saver policy.

Comprehensive policies can cover you for:

  • Unlimited Medical
  • Trip Cancellations Costs
  • Luggage and Personal Effects
  • Special Event Transport Expenses
  • Travel Delays.

Standard Saver Policies can cover you for:

  • Unlimited Medical
  • Trip Cancellations Costs
  • Luggage and Personal Effects.

Both policies are also flexible and depending on which policy you take, allows you to:

  • Increase cover for specified high value items, and
  • Add on additional options like Rental Vehicle Excess, Motorcycle Pack, Bicycle Pack and Adventure Pack.

For more information, refer to our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

A Medical Condition means any bodily or physical injury, physical defect, illness, disease or other medical or dental Condition or sign or symptom of these things, the applicable person:

  • required prescription medication for or has been prescribed medication from a medical practitioner in writing for,
  • sought or received medical advice from a medical practitioner or other health care professional for,
  • had tests, investigations, care, treatment or medical attention including surgery for,
  • been admitted to hospital for (including emergency department or day surgery procedure), or
  • became aware of or which a reasonable person in the circumstances would have been aware of.

It includes but is not limited to:

  • the suffering or treatment of mental illness,
  • a brain, heart (such as any cardiovascular or coronary heart disease or any condition related to a heart or blood vessels), kidney, liver, respiratory, circulatory (such as high blood pressure, stroke, or transient ischaemic attack), cancer or cancerous condition,
  • reduced or deficient immune system,
  • a sign or symptom of the above matters, or
  • an allergy or food intolerance,
  • a persistent and lasting condition in medicine such as constant pain or long-suffering pain or pain with a pattern of relapse and remission.
  • any conditions related to previous and current pregnancy as detailed in What is a Pregnancy Condition and in the ‘Pregnancy Cover’ section of the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

Fast Cover’s Standard Saver travel insurance policy is designed for travellers who want essential protection for their trip without the full range of benefits included in a Comprehensive policy. It provides cover for common travel risks at a lower cost, making it a great option to consider for budget-conscious travellers.

The Standard Saver policy can include cover for:

  • Unlimited Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses (for eligible claims)
  • Trip Cancellation and Disruption Expenses (up to the benefit limit)
  • Luggage and Personal Effects (subject to per-item limits, sub-limits and depreciation)

You can also choose to add optional extras such as Adventure Pack, Motorcycle Pack, or Rental Vehicle Excess cover, depending on your trip needs.

It’s a flexible, cost-effective option for travellers who want protection for unexpected medical or travel issues but don’t require the extended benefits of a Comprehensive policy.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

It’s up to you when you choose to buy your Standard Saver travel insurance policy, but many travellers prefer to purchase their policy as soon as they book their trip.

That’s because the Trip Cancellation benefit starts from the moment you purchase your policy, giving you protection if something unexpected happens and you need to cancel before you travel.

Buying early means you may be covered for eligible pre-departure events, such as illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances that may affect your travel plans. However, it’s important to read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to understand exactly what’s included and any exclusions that may apply.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.

The cost of Standard Saver travel insurance does not have a fixed price; it depends on your personal trip details and the level of cover you choose. Premiums are calculated based on several factors, including:

  • The destination or region you are travelling to
  • The length of your trip
  • The age of each traveller
  • The excess you choose
  • Any optional extras, such as cover for snow sports or rental vehicle excess
  • Your medical history and any existing conditions
  • When you purchase the policy in relation to your departure date

Because of these variables, the best way to find out the exact cost for your trip is to get a personalised quote online at www.fastcover.com.au

Choosing a Standard Saver travel insurance policy depends on your trip type, budget, and the level of protection you want. Fast Cover’s Standard Saver policy offers essential cover at a lower cost compared to a Comprehensive policy, which might make it ideal for travellers who want reliable protection without paying for extras they may not need.

When comparing or selecting your policy, you may want to consider:

  • Where you’re travelling: Make sure the region you select covers all destinations you’ll visit.
  • Trip length: Premiums vary depending on how long you’ll be away.
  • What’s covered: Standard Saver policies include benefits such as Unlimited Overseas Medical cover, Trip Cancellation benefits, and Luggage and Personal Effect cover.
  • Optional extras: You can add cover for specific needs like rental vehicle excess, adventure activities, or specified valuable personal items.
  • Your travel plans: If you’re taking part in higher-risk activities (like skiing or motorcycling), check whether an optional pack is required.

Always read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) carefully to understand what is and isn’t included before purchasing.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
