Existing medical conditions
Fast Cover does not automatically provide cover for existing medical conditions.
Travellers can complete a medical screening for medical or pregnancy conditions they have or have had within the last 3 years prior to the policy issue date, and for changes to their health including new medical conditions from the date of policy purchase, up until the trip departure. Following a medical screening, our policies may be able to provide cover for many existing medical conditions. The medical screening can be completed online or over the phone.
If a condition is approved, an additional premium may apply and the condition will be listed as covered on the Certificate of Insurance. Travellers can choose whether to accept and pay for that cover. Any condition not declared, or not listed as covered on the Certificate of Insurance, will not be covered.
If a travellers health changes before departure, they need to contact us for a re-screening. The cover available and benefit limits will depend on the policy purchased with Fast Cover. Please note the Domestic Plus policy does not provide cover for medical expenses incurred in Australia.*

Fast Cover policyholders can lodge a claim online at any time, or by email or phone.
Online claims: https://claims.fastcover.com.au/

Claims phone: 1300 409 322 (option 3), or +61 2 8215 7239 from overseas
Claims hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Sydney time
Claims often require supporting documents such as receipts, medical reports, police reports, airline or operator reports, and travel itineraries.
Fast Cover processes a claim within 10 business days of receiving a completed claim form and all necessary supporting documentation. If further information is needed to assess a claim, our claims team will let you know in writing within 10 business days of receiving your claim. 24/7 emergency medical assistance
Fast Cover's Overseas 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance is available to travellers who hold an international policy including the Comprehensive, Standard Saver, Basics, Snow Sports Plus or Frequent Traveller Saver policy.
Fast Cover’s Australian-based Emergency Assistance team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year and can help policyholders coordinate unexpected hospital admissions, find the nearest medical facility, access medical services, coordinate emergency medical evacuation and repatriation where medically necessary, locate embassies and consulates, and pass on messages to family or employers.
In an emergency, contact local emergency services first, then contact Fast Cover.
Emergency assistance (worldwide): +61 2 8320 7999
Emergency email: emergency@fastcover.com.au
The Emergency Assistance number is not toll free. Where a call relates to an event covered by the policy, the cost of the call can be included in a claim.
Contacting Emergency Assistance is not the same as lodging a claim form, but in some cases the assistance provided will itself form a claim under your policy, for example where medical evacuation or other services are arranged on your behalf. In other cases you will need to lodge a claim separately. All claims are assessed on a case by case basis and in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms and Certificate of Insurance.
Managing a policy
Policies can be managed through the policy login or by contacting Fast Cover’s Australian-based customer service team on 1300 409 322 or info@fastcover.com.au.
Extending a policy: You can apply to extend your cover by contacting Fast Cover on or before your original policy expiry date, and an additional premium may apply if Fast Cover agrees to extend the cover for your trip. Where cover is extended, a new Certificate of Insurance is issued, and the original and new certificates cannot exceed a maximum combined period of 24 months.
Changing policy details: Through the policy login you are able to update contact details, traveller details such as names and dates of birth, and travel dates. Alternatively, you can contact the Fast Cover team by email or phone.
Cooling off period (25-day money-back guarantee): Fast Cover has a 25-day cooling off period, running from the policy issue date. A policy cancelled in this 25-day money-back period is eligible for a full refund, provided the trip has not started, and no rights have been exercised under the policy (for example, no claim has been made and the policy has not been used to obtain a visa or entry into a country). Where departure falls less than 25 days after purchase, the period ends on the departure date.
Cancellations and refunds: If you decide to cancel your policy outside of the 25-day cooling off-period, you may be eligible for a partial refund. The amount depends on when the policy is cancelled and which policy is held, as set out in the Product Disclosure Statement. No refund is available once the trip has started.
