You can cancel your policy and get a full refund if within the 25 days from the date you purchase your policy: 

  • You have not started your trip 
  • You have not used any of your rights under the policy (for example, you have not made a claim or used your policy to obtain a visa or entry into a country) 
  • You cannot go on your trip for a reason related to COVID-19 that is not covered under the policy

We are flexible when it comes to cancelling your Fast Cover Travel Insurance policy, provided you meet the cancellation terms and conditions of your policy. We offer a 25-day Cooling-Off Period from the date of policy purchase, which allows you to cancel your policy and receive a full refund, provided you meet the cancellation conditions outlined in the Product Disclosure Statement. To receive a full refund on your Travel Insurance during the Cooling-Off Period, you must meet the following conditions: 

  • You have not started your trip, and 
  • Have not exercised any rights under the policy (e.g. you have not made a claim or used your policy to obtain a visa). 
  • You have not and do not intend to make a claim under the policy.

If you meet the Cooling-Off Period conditions, you may request to cancel your policy and receive a full refund. If you do not meet the Cooling-Off Period conditions but still wish to cancel, you can request cancellation at any time, and a refund may be available depending on your circumstance and Fast Cover Travel Insurance policy terms.

If you have purchased the wrong policy, selected the incorrect destination, or need to make other changes, you may not need to cancel your policy. Contact our team for assistance in making changes. If you are eligible for a refund, your request will be processed immediately, but please allow 2-3 business days for the refund to appear in your bank statement.

As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, and Certificate of Insurance.

If you no longer wish to travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic and need to cancel your travel insurance policy, your options will depend on when you purchased the policy and whether your trip has started. 

  • If you are within the 25-day cooling-off period and your trip has not yet begun, you can generally cancel your policy and receive a full refund of your premium. 
  • If the cooling-off period has passed, but your trip has not yet started, you may still be able to make changes to the departure and return dates of your policy if your travel plans are postponed. Any premium differences will be adjusted depending on your new trip details. 
  • If your trip has already commenced or if you have made a claim or intend to make a claim or have exercised any of your rights under policy such as using your travel insurance policy to obtain a visa or enter into a country, the policy cannot be cancelled for a refund. 

It’s important to note that travel insurance does not provide cover for every COVID-19 situation, and there is no cover for cancellation simply because of general concerns about the pandemic or government travel restrictions. 

Every request and claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be approved if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before making any decisions.
