Does travel insurance cover backcountry skiing and snowboarding?
Backcountry skiing and snowboarding is not automatically covered under Fast Cover’s Travel Insurance policies. Only travellers aged 69 years and under as at the date of policy issue who purchase a Snow Sports Plus policy, or travellers who purchase a Domestic Plys policy, may have cover for Backcountry skiing and snowboarding provided it is done with a professional snow sport instructor in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.
Under our PDS Backcountry means any area inside or outside a ski resort's boundaries that is NOT monitored or patrolled by resort authorities.
For more information about how our Snow Sports cover relates to Backcountry skiing or snowboarding, read our PDS to learn more about what is covered and what is not covered.
