What does ‘Resident of Australia’ mean in travel insurance?
A “Resident of Australia” is someone who meets specific eligibility criteria set out in the PDS. This includes but not limited to:
Australian citizen and permanent residents who:
Currently live in Australia
Hold an Australian Medicare card that will be valid beyond the period of insurance
Temporary residents who:
Hold a valid visa that remains valid beyond their return
Have a Medicare card or compliant private health insurance for their visa
Have a home in Australia and intend to return to it
Please read the PDS for full terms and conditions as to be eligible for a policy, you must meet all eligibility requirements.
