Luke is Fast Cover's Technical Lead, working across claims handling and emergency assistance, the high-stakes end of travel insurance where getting it right genuinely matters. His day-to-day involves managing some of the most complex cases in the industry: emergency evacuations, large medical claims, trip cancellations before departure, and situations where travellers need urgent support far from home. 

Before joining Fast Cover, Luke built his insurance foundations starting in insurance sales, progressing to claims consulting, then moving into complaints handling. This journey through each layer of the customer experience gives him a rounded, practical understanding of how travel insurance really works from the inside out. 

At Fast Cover, Luke reviews and contributes to policy and product explainers, claims guidance, and internal documentation. He also mentors junior claims assessors, sharing the kind of knowledge that only comes from handling difficult, high-pressure cases first-hand.

Luke's specialist knowledge centres on the claims and emergency assistance process, particularly high-cost and complex medical cases, emergency evacuations, pre-departure cancellations, and medical screening for pre-existing conditions. He's handled large-loss claims up to $100,000 AUD and applies that direct, hands-on experience to every piece of content he contributes to at Fast Cover.

Real-World Travel Experience

Luke travels more than three times a year and has personal experience across domestic Australia and international destinations including Malaysia. He travels with a partner and brings a genuine first-hand understanding of the questions Australians ask before heading overseas and why having the right travel insurance makes all the difference when something doesn't go to plan.
