Who does the duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation apply to?
This duty applies to everyone listed on the policy. Each person covered must take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation when applying for, varying, extending, or reinstating cover.
It is also important to understand that when you answer our questions or review information provided, you are doing so on behalf of yourself. If you are answering on behalf of someone else listed on the policy, you must have accurate/appropriate knowledge to do so. For more information, refer to our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
