Secure Your Belongings
During peak travel times, it’s especially important to keep an eye on your belongings. Airports can get chaotic, and distracted travellers are often easy targets for theft.
Pro Tip: Use Apple AirTags or similar tracking devices to keep tabs on your luggage. These handy gadgets can help you locate lost or misplaced bags with ease, giving you peace of mind in the hustle and bustle.
With more people flying, the chances of unexpected events such as lost luggage, can increase. This is where Fast Cover Travel Insurance can help make a difference. Depending on the policy chosen, Fast Cover has a range of benefits available to customers to choose from to suit their individual Easter travel needs.
For example, whether the airline lost your luggage, or your personal belongings are stolen from you or are accidentally damaged, at Fast Cover, you can claim for your lost, stolen or accidentally damaged items that you bring with you on your trip. Whilst this benefit seems fairly straight forward, conditions do apply, including limits to how much you can claim for each type of item, a limit on the maximum amount that you can claim for under the policy that you have chosen for your trip, and the situations in which we would provide cover. For example, the maximum that we would pay for a pair of sunglasses is $750 (unless you specify it as a high value item and pay an additional premium), but if you leave any of your items unsupervised, for example at the beach whilst you're swimming and it’s lost or stolen, your claim may be denied, as this is a condition for cover and there is also a relevant exclusion under our policies relating to exercising reasonable care at all times for the safety and security of your belongings. To understand more about cover for your luggage and personal effects, read our page on luggage and personal effects. It's also important to be aware of the conditions and exclusions that may apply by reading the PDS.
Some of the important cover conditions include:
- Getting a written statement from the airline confirming that they lost your luggage.
- If your items are stolen from you, you must report the theft as soon as practicable, but preferably within 24 hours to the police or to the office of the carrier that you were travelling on when the theft occurred.
