Travel Insurance for Holidays from $1.11 per day↟ | Fast Cover

Holiday Insurance

Holiday travel insurance is essential for anyone planning a trip away from home, regardless of whether it's a short domestic trip within Australia, or an international round-the-world expedition!

It doesn't matter if you’re only travelling for a day, a month or a whole year, going on holiday always comes with a few added risks.

That's why purchasing holiday travel insurance should be an essential part of your pre-travel preparation, and can prove extremely valuable if something unexpected does happen during your travels.

Who should get holiday insurance?

Whether you're just escaping for a quick weekend getaway or taking an extended trip overseas to explore a new destination, a holiday is an opportunity to break your routine and enjoy doing something relaxing, exciting, adventurous or all of the above!

But even if you’ve thoroughly planned your holiday, or are only travelling to familiar ‘safe’ destinations, you can never be sure something unexpected won't mess up your plans.

Fast Cover's holiday insurance can cover a range of different situations, no matter if your plans involve:

  • Spending a week or two relaxing on a beach in Hawaii.
  • Chilling by the pool, sipping cocktails and indulging in the occasional massage or beauty treatment in Bali.
  • Blasting down the slopes on your skis or snowboard in Whistler or Thredbo.
  • Backpacking across South America on a shoestring budget to see some of the natural wonders.
  • Experiencing the many different cultures and cuisines in Southeast Asia.
  • Packing in as many adventure activities as possible, from bungee jumping in Queenstown to quad biking across the Moroccan desert.
  • Taking a relaxing cruise around the Pacific or Caribbean Islands.

No matter what your plans may be, Fast Cover can provide cover for you, your belongings and the people you travel with.

Discover how simple getting holiday insurance can be by getting a free online quote in a matter of minutes, or contact us to help you find the right policy to cover your next holiday.

Why do you need holiday insurance?

Wherever you go on holiday, it’s important to bear in mind that you can’t control everything that happens. Buying holiday insurance before you depart means having access to 24 hour Emergency Assistance and cover for unexpected expenses if something does go wrong while you’re away.

Overseas medical treatment and emergency evacuation costs can be significantly higher than in Australia.

The Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade reports that an emergency medical evacuation from Bali can set you back around $60,000 AUD, and an overnight stay in hospital in the United States can set you back over $5,000 USD per night.

Without travel insurance, it would also be up to you to cover the costs of any lost, damaged or stolen belongings, plus things like alternative accommodation or transport costs if your flights are cancelled due to a natural disaster.

A stolen passport, a nasty virus, or missing a connecting flight can easily spoil the most carefully-laid travel plans, but holiday insurance can help give you the peace of mind that these problems won’t turn your dream holiday into a full-blown nightmare.

Example Incidents~

Liam’s Lost Luggage

Liam and his partner arrived in New Zealand for a holiday but their baggage did not. They took precautions as advised by their travel insurer’s emergency assistance team and lodged a claim with the airline. Fortunately, the airline located their luggage 48 hours later but they were also able to claim $500 AUD under the luggage and personal effects delay benefit.

Colin's Unlucky Trip to Vegas

Colin, a 57-year-old from Fremantle, suffered chest pains on his two-week holiday in Las Vegas and was rushed to hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with a severe respiratory tract infection. Colin’s hospital bill, three extra nights accommodation for recovery, and change of flight expenses added up to over $16,000 AUD but were thankfully covered by his Comprehensive travel insurance policy which cost less than $200.
